Let Us Eat Cake!

What a beautiful Saturday morning it is today!  San Diego had a huge dose of water yesterday, but today, the air is crisp and fresh!  Although I love the rain (usually because we don't get a lot of rain out here), I'm happy to see that it is just cold and somewhat overcast today.  Makes getting around town much easier without the problems extra water creates!  But that's for later in the day...right now, it's a beautiful, relaxing, lazy Saturday morning for this gal!  What better way to enjoy relaxation but with a cup of coffee and a new post to write??

Today, I am sharing a bridal shower with you.  This particular bridal shower is a Marie Antoinette theme, with the pinks and golds and girly fou fous!  Remember Robin and Omar?  Robin contacted me about doing a bridal shower dessert table for her sister!  And, of course, I was more than happy to take it on!  The theme was a lot of fun!  I did some Frenchy desserts, as well as some decadent ones (like chocolate dipped strawberries!)  I also had some really fun decor that I brought out and decked out!
You can't really tell, but the backdrop to the dessert table looked out onto the waters of Long Beach.  It was a really cute restaurant that offered a great view.  As you can see, I did some fun teapots and teacups to go with the overall theme of Marie Antoinette.  I made some cupcakes, chocolate dipped rice krispy treats (which were also decorated with some fun gold sprinkles), cake pops, chocolate dipped strawberries, mini eclairs and cream puffs, rosette meringues, French macarons, and some white chocolate iced donuts!  I was sent some pictures of some cake designs they liked, and in the end, we went really simple...just the flowers and some feathers!  I originally also made some Marie Antoinette sugar cookies too...but, alas, in the chaos of leaving, I also left the cookies at work!  I was so sad that Robin and her sister couldn't see those cookies!  But, even with that mishap, everything turned out well!  We fought the traffic to get to Long Beach, and was in the nick of time for set up!

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures and this post!  Until next time!
