Happy Birthday Princess Jaslyn!

Happy Friday dear readers!  For once, I am sitting in a well known cafe, with my laptop open, looking studious (I'm sure...because I'm Asian and I have a Macbook open...inside a coffee shop...).  Although I'm not studying like the many, many people here with their laptops open.  Instead, I'm finally getting caught up on my blog posts (...well, trying to!).  I just copied more photos onto my blog post file....and boy, it sure is growing!  The amount of posts I still need to write is astronomical at this point, but no worries, dear readers...I shall persevere, write those posts, and try to keep you entertained with all my blabbering.  Anyways, it's pretty unusual for me to be out on a Friday night.  In fact, it's pretty rare for me to be out, period.  And look at that...I'm actually out out on a Friday night.  Party animal that I am.  Whooo....Just kidding.  I actually had a dessert table set up here in Long Beach this afternoon and am waiting for the wedding to be over before breaking down the set up.  Here's a teaser for you...it was a "Day of the Dead" themed wedding!  The venue was pretty awesome and it went perfectly with the couple's theme...look out for that blog post coming soon!

Today's post is at the opposite end of the spectrum.  If you haven't gathered yet from the title, today's post is all about pinks and princesses!  My client, Jasmine, had contacted me about her daughter's first birthday party a loooong (long!) time before her daughter's party.  She was definitely doing the planning right!  Gave herself plenty of time to get everything perfect!  And boy, she did a fantastic job! Jasmine ordered some yummy desserts from me and did the entire set up/layout of the table herself.  I must say, she is one crafty chick!  Check it out!
Isn't this fabulous??  The venue was absolutely beautiful.  It was held in a clubhouse out in Irvine.  The decorations were beautiful and the desserts looked yummy!  I was commissioned to make macarons, cupcakes, vanilla popcorn balls, cake pops, rice krispy treats, and fortune cookies.
These are some yummy vanilla chiffon cupcakes.  They are lightly sweet, topped with whipped cream, decorated with pink pearls, sitting inside a tiara wrapper.
I made some chocolate cupcakes and fondant tiaras.  Jasmine wanted everything princess for her little princess so I hand-made these tiaras.  They are super simple, but the metallic pink pearls lent an understated elegance to such simplicity.
Customized fortune cookies in shades of pink.
Some delicious macarons in shades of...you got it...pink!
These rice krispy treats were cut out in tiara shapes.  I then put small pearls at the tips of the tiara so that it more resembles a tiara!  And of course, I decked it out with pink sprinkles!

This was a super fun event to cater.  If you haven't noticed yet, I love, looove pink...so I definitely had a blast doing the birthday event!  Happy birthday Princess Jaslyn!

Cake Pop Bouquet

Happy Monday!  First of all, let me start off by apologizing for the loooong delay in new posts!  It's been a crazy few weeks I've had!  I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but when I'm booked for an event, I usually bake and craft everything myself...usually.  There are times when I'm super overwhelmed and will beg my super talented friend, Mai, to help me.  However, these past few weeks have been all me.  And I am now just catching up on blog posts!  Yep, it's been that busy!  So, dear readers, please forgive me for the long delay in new posts!  Well, today's treat is all about cake pops!  I know, I know...but I already wrote a post on cake pops.  Well, not this kind of cake pop!  This post is actually about Oreo pops!  And yes, they are made from Oreo cookies!  I was actually approached to do a cake similar to the one in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.  Unfortunately, I was already booked for a gig that same weekend.  So, instead, I offered to make a cake pop bouquet for their silent auction.  I was super happy with how this bouquet turned out!  I ended up being able to fit in a dozen cake pops in this bouquet.
I wasn't told a specific color, so I originally went with white and cookies to get that "cookies and cream" look.  And then for some reason, I threw pink into the mix too.  And then I decided that the white cookies and cream one needed more chocolate drizzle.  Yep.
I would normally not wrap the cake pops, but this time around, because I wasn't hand delivering this box of goodies, I decided to wrap them all up so that no funny business will get onto the sweets!  Turned out well!
I thought it was super adorable.  What's even better was the box was definitely reusable!  I hope the organization was able to put it to good use and that they were able to get a lot of money from it!

Cheers, dear reader!  I've got many more posts to come and you don't want to miss it!
