Navy Exchange Bridal Fair

TGIF!!  However, since I work tomorrow, I guess it doesn't quite matter that it's Friday.  But to all the lucky souls out there who get weekends off, TGIF!!  Anyways, I know I fell off the face of the Earth for a little while there.  And, yes, I know I was supposed to keep up with my blog...but darn it, life just got soo busy!  There's been a lot of issues going on personally, along with tons of new product trials for the donut shop, and all those baking gigs on the side.  It's any wonder I get any sleep in!  Oh, wait, I don't sleep.  It has already been established on this blog, that sleep is overrated.  Ok, since that's been established, I guess I need to bump up my blog writing to a the next priority level!  Promise.  Really.

Ok, let's talk about today's fun blog post!  A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to participate in a bridal fair!  You know, those one-stop shops (or fair, I suppose) that have everything available to those tying the knot sometimes in the near future.  My baking buddy and partner in crime was the one who snagged this gig and gallantly allowed me in on it.  When she first told me about it, I was super excited!  My first bridal fair....actually, I've never even been to a bridal fair...so it was my first bridal fair show as vendor and guest!  So, the game plan was to set up a beautiful dessert table, filled with desserts of course!  I also had some samples for those who were interested.  We gave out samples of chocolate cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, Parisian macarons, and vanilla sugar cookies.  We decided to make our color theme more modern and chic, sticking with black, white, Tiffany blue and traces of silver.  This was a very popular wedding combination.  I had several brides mention that this was also their wedding color scheme.  We were given two tables at this event.  One table we portrayed the modern/chic white, black and Tiffany blue.  The other table, we did a nautical/sea/beachy theme.  There are so many different themes and colors to choose from; it was very difficult for us to portray only two tables/ideas because we had so many looks running through our minds!  Anyways, take a look and let me know what you think!
I had just received my beautiful milk glass tiers.  Let me tell you, I LOVE them!  They have this modern clean look that I simply adore!  And lucky for me, they came in in time for me to showcase them.  Aren't they fabulous??  Loooove!
Ok, so you see those Oreos, stacked to look like tiers of cake?  Well, they were actually more complicated that I initially thought!  Impossible right?   I mean, after all, it is just stacking Oreo cookies.  Right.  That was what I thought too.  For some reason, my stacks just look weird.  They started out looking nice, and they somewhat fitted full circle too.  Once I got towards the top, all Hells broke lose.  The complete circles didn't fit anymore, and they started to look wobbly.  To this day, I still haven't researched the correct way to stack those Oreos (I will one of these days, promise!)  Anyways, even though it was store-bought Oreos, I thought it was a good idea to stack them to look like a wedding cake.  It is something very different from the usual wedding cake and would work really well for someone who would like to do a cookie buffet!
Some of the fun guests checking out the table scape and also taking the time to fill out their info for a chance to win one of our awesome prizes!
Aren't these globes awesome??  I looooove them!  They feel like little air bubbles underneath the sea.  They went perfectly with the nautical/beachy theme we had going on at this table!  Even the colors went really well together!
Beautiful and serene!  Truly, a job well done!  I had a blast doing this bridal fair and I can't wait for future ones!  It was definitely worth the work, as I was able to meet so many great people and share with them my passion for the industry I am in!  Alrighty, thanks for reading folks!  I promise not to go too long until the next post!  Good night!
